This mayan pattern has evolved throughout the centuries.

The base of this textile is hand woven on a loom, and the flowers originally used in dresses are made in silk threads. These pattern has existed half a millenia ago and usually when made by hand, take between 4 to 8 months to be completed. Now a days, artisans use a pedal machine to assist their flower embroidery and reduce the production between 1-2 weeks.

However hand ebroidery is still made for special ocasions like weddings or other important celebrations, since they simbolize blooming and new life.
